In honor of Valentine’s Day, we thought we’d share some poetry from two of our Beatitudes Campus resident poets.
By Beatitudes Campus resident, Jean Moeller
And now he’s gone -
When shall I see again
the one I love?
While stars above
watch over me.
Where is my love?
On some far distant ship
he sleeps tonight.
While from on high
the moon shines bright
upon the sea.
Will he return?
Guide him always, dear God.
Come back he must!
I cannot live
with only just
a memory.
By Beatitudes Campus resident, Robert Peterson
Tell the world that you love me. Tell a beggar, tell a king.
Tell the world that you want me. Tell everyone, tell everything!
Tell the lightning, tell the thunder, you can even tell the rain,
But before you do, if it’s really true, tell me! Tell me!
Tell the sun in the morning. Tell the moon and stars at night.
Tell them all that you left me. Let another hold you tight.
Did other arms make you forsake me? If not, then see the light.
Darling, come back now. Mend your broken vow to love me!
Love only me. Then you can feel free to tell the world.
Yes, you can then feel free to tell the world.
