At some point, all people will volunteer – whether it’s in their neighborhood, school, church or larger community. Americans love to give back and in 2010 alone, more than 63 million Americans volunteered their time. Working as the Volunteer Specialist at Beatitudes Campus, I have met a multitude of different people, from all walks of life and in every age group. They all have one thing in common and that is to make a difference.

"Volunteers are the lifeblood of our schools and shelters, hospitals and hotlines, and faith-based and community groups," said President Obama in his April 2011 presidential proclamation. "From mentoring at-risk youth and caring for older Americans to supporting our veterans and military families and rebuilding after disasters, these everyday heroes make a real and lasting impact on the lives of millions of women and men across the globe."

Our volunteer program includes resident volunteers and their families, the Beatitudes Campus Auxiliary members, students and parents from the neighborhood schools and many others from the community. They come to assist with off campus trips, play games such as bingo and to be a friendly face to a resident, among many other options. All in all, we have a wonderful group of people who are continuing to offer their time and energy to help continue our mission.

Beatitudes Campus would like to thank our volunteers for every hour they have given to help our campus become the magnificent place it is today!
